Garden of  Vibrations

Garden of Vibrations is a speculative engagement with soil and vibration in the land now called Bedford Square Gardens in London. Created over several weeks of listening to the soil in the garden with a vibrational sensor (a geophone), and informed by histories of this locked garden, voices passed through my body and unknown histories emerged.

I descend
I abscond
I refuse
through my ears
I travel
on a long silk rope
secreted from my auricle
tangling on roots
The soil is full of patterns
I visit them
swim in them
trip on them
blindfolded in a storm
in them
The earth sings & spins
The digestion of my head begins
It sounds like an egg hatching
It sounds like my skull hatching
It sounds like brains frying in a moving truck
A motorcade of bees driving stateless
through the underworld
